Shallow Search from Google!

Google Search is “shallow“. Where’s the “deep” content like long tail information or non-mainstream content that can answer Jeopardy questions that most people don’t know? Wikipedia itself is usually the first result on the search engine query and then, points to sources that can only be found behind a paywall or at Amazon.com or Barnes & Noble. What happened to the universal search with Google Books embedded into the search queries? Deep Learning itself is a compositional function that is a cascading function approximator that translates from one space to another without any understanding about why? That’s what’s missing to really make the search engine self-sufficient!

Response to Libertarian Party VP Arvin Vohra!

My response (Chandra Pay-as-you-go tax system):

I believe that we should make the taxes a function of the pressure on the city, state, and country.  For instance, if you have zero children, you should play less taxes.  If you have say 5 children, you should pay taxes for the kids to be required to have a minimum amount of schooling by making it a compulsory to use that money for education.  Thus, the tax-coupon system ensures that parent and taxpayer allocates or saves money for that particular task in life.  Also, if they have no health ailments, they pay less taxes.  If they have many ailments, they pay more and thus, have to fix those problems quickly and become a less stranglehold on society and the state.  My solution is that the more problem you are to society, the more taxes you pay.  Pay-as-you-go tax system is my title for this scheme.

My response to Francois Chollet about Intelligence!

My response:

“…For super-human (a.k.a. Vulcan or psychic) intelligence to be created, we must pinpoint and test the weaknesses and not necessarily “flaws” but rather the biological and mental limitations (e.g. emotion, attachment, trust, processing and reaction speed, deepness and insights of intuition, limitation of creative possibilities, eidetic recall) and expound and magnify on them until one can capture the essence to anticipate and create faster than Mother Nature. Why is this important? Because if one can do that, than Mother Nature is irrelevant…” ~ Shyamal Chandra, AIToday

Response to Bob Metcalfe’s post on who should replace Matt Lauer

Why don’t they hire David Letterman? His $2 million salary per episode on Netflix ranks higher than Charlie Sheen and seems reasonable since Matt Lauer was getting paid ~$28 million/year.  I would call it “Early Morning with David Letterman” and it would be magical, beautiful, and wonderful.
